For Children's Book authors, without a doubt, Book Week is the busiest time of the year. It is the one week of the year when schools are excited and actively looking to invite authors into their classrooms. School visits are genuinely one of the greatest highlights of the job for me. I loved my time as a teacher and having the chance to reenter classrooms, stirring up a love of literature in small hearts is a wonderful opportunity.
This year was very exciting, as not only did I have the privilege of visiting four schools and one daycare, the first print run of my second book The Magic in Dress-Ups arrived. Talk about cutting it fine!
The Book Week Dress-Ups parade is always a fun time to be at school. I was particularly honoured this year to see children dressing-up as characters from my books. Could there be any greater thrill? I would like to pass on a special thank you to those parents and children. Thank you! You made my day!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
